Western Tiger Swallowtail
Papilio rutulus

Observation date: June 11, 2024
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I'm having a hard time distinguishing between these two - based on wing shape I was leaning towards Pale, but based on stronger yellow color, should be Western Tiger?
Status: Resident
Verified by: mikefisher
Verified date: July 02, 2024
Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...the Pale or Pallid Swallowtail is white, without yellow...some females have a more creamy look to the white than males. Otherwise, both are similar. Mike
