Observation notes: Huge skipper - first thought it was a sphinx moth. Clubbed antenna eliminate moths. Fluttered around small yucca and in sage. only perched briefly for good looks through binoculars. Only manage very poor flight shot. Huge abdomen. Dorsal view showed mostly gray-brown coloration with large white irregular shaped spots, denser on DHW with terminal band. Ventral view showed similar markings. Size, spot pattern and flight timing eliminate Yucca.
