Observation notes: There were several of these individuals nectaring on some blooming buckeye's. They all appeared similar in size to each other. I see no previous reports in this part of CA for Great Basin Wood-Nymph. Also, the lower eyespot on the forewing seems about the same size as the upper. The Forewing postmedian band to me seems to extend to the top of the eyespot. For these reasons I believe this is a Common.
