Observation notes: Skipper apparently ovipositing on basal stems of Switchgrass clumps, along the edge of a temporary pond near the Dripping Springs Visitor Center, Organ Mountains. The soil under the clumps had been saturated during a minor ponding event on 06/21/24 and remained moist on this day. The morning was sunny, with light wind, and humid.

Coordinator notes: Jim, this is a female, for sure. I do not see an egg, but perhaps you did? larvae of this species eat one or more species of grasses. This will be Huron Sachem in DNA-based taxonomies.
