Coordinator notes: I have my own story this week on clodius....once common, long term drought and plant succession led to no records of this species on the Sherman Pass Rd. for at least 3 years. I decided to go to a creek July 2nd this year (2024) not easy to access because of fallen timber during the 2002 forest fire. In 45 minutes, I observed 4 clodius and watched one for 10 minutes, flying only 40 yards from where I first discovered it on the Kern Plateau in 1980. Seeing it has retreated to its former limited range made my day. Parnassians are special to me!...Ken Davenport
