Observation notes: Spotted by Mike Shoop perched on a stump next to a large stand of Purshia stansburyana in Pole Canyon. Very pretty butterfly, and unfortunately this is the best shot I have, but it should be enough to ID it. It was very dry and none of the Purshia were flowering or even budding, and this is the only one we saw.
