Observation notes: There were Admirals all along the trail, perching about head-height or slightly higher, in Sumac, Lemonadeberry, Mulefat, or other Chaparral flora, darting out to attack other butterflies or each other. These two caught my eye as they seemed to have some detente going. Maybe one was female, but I can't be sure from my vantagepoint. Weather fair, slightly breezy, warm and humid.
