Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Today was sunny, and a little breezy...the little butterfly was very busy going from one plant to another. When I saw it, I thought this could not be...but, maybe. Last week I was at the Wilton Wildlife Preserve and the second batch of Karner blue butterflies had hatched. This photo is not the best...I hope you can identify it, especially if it is not the Karner blue. Is this a rare sighting in the Adirondacks?

Coordinator notes: A Karner would have orange spots along the margin on the ventral side HW, with some continuing onto the FW. Also, it has a different dark spot pattern. You’re unlikely to find it in your location, but can be found near Albany in suitable habitat. -jmgesell
