Observation notes: Randomly flew through the patch of Heliotrope as I was photographing Hairstreaks. Largely on the move the whole time, I did manage to get video footage of it, but I didn't know it was a Dogface until I analyzed the footage later. Weather warm, breezy, clear. The last image here convinced me this was a California Dogface.
