Field Crescent
Phyciodes pulchella

Observation date: August 04, 2024
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: All different individuals. I don't know why these confuse me so much (some seem like Field, others seem maybe like female Northern Checkerspots), but hopefully these are all the same.

Coordinator notes: Your suggested ID impression is corrrect...a female. The color markings on the wings of the summer flight are more subdued and makes for a darker presentation than the first flight earlier in the season. (At lowest elevation, there are three to four flights and the last gets quite dark, especially males)...more ID later...Mike
