Observation notes: I saw three of these caterpillars on Helianthus annuus at the Valle de Oro visitor center. I also saw an adult bordered patch (submitted as a separate sighting). My photo is cropped to show the job done on the sunflower leaf. Sunny (but caterpillar was in building's shade), warm, calm.
