Observation notes: Photographed perching on Oregon thistle on the west bank of the Metolius River near Lower Canyon Campground, Camp Sherman, Oregon. Nectaring on various wildflowers in a thick riparian area. Hot, smoky (from nearby forest fires) morning. No wind.
