Observation notes: Photographed in the Cascade Mountains of central Oregon, about 8 miles southwest of Marion Forks at an altitude of 4000 feet. Nectaring on various wildflowers near a roadside spring on USFS Road 2234. Warm, smoky day with a light breeze. There were dozens of this butterfly species nectaring nearby.
