Observation notes: This I saw once on the east coast but it looked different I think? I Bet you get Diana's Frit. and The other frit that is only in MO. ? Is it Regal? My friend wants that one really badly. I told him my sister and her husband are in Columbia, MO. it might be near there? Was nice to see this and a lifer for Diane! Sure its a different sub species for Me Too?

Coordinator notes: This is Satyrium titus immaculosis and looks to be a female. We have Coral Hairstreaks here in Kansas and they love butterfly weed. You mentioned Speyeria idalia, Regal Fritillary. Those are a very distinctly beautiful Fritillary! If you do a search on here for Harper County Kansas and that species you will find some sighting pics I submitted in early June of this year. Found a fairly fresh male that morning on a coneflower, netted him to take pics and released. There is not natural prairie near me but for perhaps 2-3 miles away and they rarely venture from that. I was excited to record it new for my county and to know they are surviving still around here. The Diana Fritillary has been straying, a possibly local population?, in central Kansas the last 5 yrs or so. I recorded one in Harvey County I believe last year, a male. Speyeria diana probably wouldn't be present in Columbia MO, a bit too far north. Though Speyeria idalia should. Your very welcome on the help Robert, my pleasure. We are having low hundreds for temps right now and horrible humidity, what else is new for a Kansas summer? Working on that skipper you sent in. Thanks, JAMES STEEN
