Observation notes: The only tortoiseshell I saw today. Sipping and basking at a mossy seep along a granite wall. Habitat is a stream and small roadside waterfall, a granite wall with nooks, crannies and mossy seeps. Woods along the road and top of the cliff are mixed deciduous and conifer the understory is mixed native shrubs and perennials.
