Observation notes: Under an overcast sky this butterfly was nectaring on Acourtia wrightii ot far below the mostly dry Fillmore Canyon waterfall. An increasing, though still small in number, species of butterflies are appearing as the rainy season is underway. The orange skipperling is not uncommon here, but this is the only one I recall seeing this year.
