Observation notes: Sadly, we report that we found it wedged and dead between our headlight and the frame of our vehicle after a trip to the high pass that takes us toward Missoula Montana, however this was in Idaho on highway 12, coming home to Moscow ID, from Jerry Johnson hot springs. The highway follows the Lochsa River, and is heavily forested. Weather has been in the upper 80's with almost no rain for a couple weeks. Measured about 5" tip to tip, or would have had we seen it before it was damaged.
