Coordinator notes: With the TWO well developed lunules on the underside clearly visible (and no additional spots forming a band), this looks to me like a female Eastern Tailed Blue. It is a GRAND COUNTY RECORD and the first I know of in the mountains west of the Continental Divide. An odd place for this butterfly...a tourist could have accidentally transported it on a vehicle where it escaped...recently or earlier in the summer? This would be a local-grown offspring (on any various legume) from (would have to be) a gravid female. An exceptional sighting Lynn. Mike
