Observation notes: Flight of several butterfly species nectaring from southern saltmarsh aster flowers, which grow along a water-filled ditch in the ROW of the I-10/SH-338 interchange, then emptying into the South Alkali Flats Duckpond. This site is within the Alkali Flats/Lordsburg Playa/Animas Valley landforms. The morning was sunny, hot, and with gusting wind.
