Observation notes: Colony of adults seen nectaring on Bidens alba and engaging in mating behavior. Adults flew low about a shady field at the corner of a busy intersection on the USF campus. Low, muddy spot visible in area, no puddling noted. Hot and sunny afternoon. No host plant (coontie) on this corner, but mass plantings ate plentiful on campus, including in front of Moffitt Cancer Center across the street. Corner of Magnolia and Holly on USF campus. One individual noted flying across intersection which made me follow with interest.
