Observation date: August 06, 2017
Submitted by: Robert Gorman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: while looking at old photo's hoping to delete to free up space, we found this. Had not noticed the difference before. Fairly sure on the ID due to orange dot on side of wing and wing banding I think might be different also. This would be a lifer that we had sat on for years! Too Funny.

Coordinator notes: P. canadensis would not be in flight in early August. This individual is worn and shows characteristics of both species. A proposed species dubbed the "Midsummer Tiger" appears right after the P. canadensis flight. It is not a true hybrid as suggested by the name, but actually an intergrade between the two species in a blend zone between their respective ranges. -jmgesell
