Observation notes: A large Baccharis shrub in full flower attracted several butterfly species including blues (Western Pygmy, Reakirt's, Lupine/Acmon). This tall shrub grew from a small arroyo bank adjacent to the abandoned SH80 roadbed due north of Fraggle Rock. The midday was warm, sunny, and windy. Note: the 2nd image of the dorsal surface was photo-bombed by a Western Pygmy Blue, thus the small, cloudy area of pinkish color.
