Observation notes: Sacramento California - Many of these tiny caterpillars have appeared on the walkways, side of buildings, etc. Mostly under large oak trees and near a creek bed.

Coordinator notes: This is an Orgyia species according to Dave Wagner of UConn. It cannot be identified to species based on the fact that there are no images available for all the instars of the different western species, of which three are possible in the Sacramento area. It has been researched as far as it can go. Kelly
