Observation notes: Found the caterpillar on July 10th crawling along asphalt in backyard (near vegetable garden in yard also populated with various ivy and trees) -- put it in a jar with soil at bottom. It burrowed immediately and emerged today (a month to the day) as this moth. It's body length is approx 1.5", it's wingspan as pictured approx 2.5"
