Coordinator notes: A note of caution:-According to David Wagner in Caterpillars of Eastern North America the caterpillars of this species are extremely variable in coloration and patterning. Forbes (1948) claimed caterpillars of L. bilineata and L. manteo are indistinguishable and that identification should be based on reared adults.
