Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: At mud puddle at the Rapid River Fish Hatchery, Riggins, ID. I've gone back and forth on this specimen several times debating between Papilio machaon (we have found several individuals of this species - that were clearly machaon - over the years in Riggins)and Papilio zelicaon. Today I'm leaning more towards zelicaon because the abdomen is just "not yellow enough" and the black spot inside the red spot of the HW is just "too centered" for machaon.

Coordinator notes: PI will go with zelicaon based on the abdominalaul Castrovilla (submitted photo) is unsure of specimen, is this a zelicaon/machaon hybrid? I will go with zelicaon based on the abdominal yellow and black; machaon yellow forms tend to be more yellow-Ken Davenport
