Observation notes: Celastrina neglecta ovipositing on an Amphicarpa bracteata bud (Hog-peanut).
Ova collected. Larvae fed on A. bracteata buds and florets. Adults obtained from pupae.

Coordinator notes: Fascinating host record, as A. bracteata is toxic to Virginia C. neglecta larvae. The individual in the image is of the "early summer" type of C. neglecta found in northern New England and nearby regions.
