Observation notes: These caterpillars are having a field day on my Lupine plants. There are at least ten of them on one plant. I've tried to find them in cocoons, but have had no luck. They start very small (approx. 1/4" in length) and grow up to over an inch long. This plant is in a planter in between my garage and pool. The other plants in the planter are star gazer lillies...I haven't seen any caterpillars on those plants. I live 30 miles South East of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. I would love to know what these turn into.
