Spotted Oleander Caterpillar Moth
Empyreuma pugione

Observation date: May 20, 2012
Date notes: hot, muggy, sun starting to set
Submitted by: Tatiana Staats
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Dept. of Entomology Univ. of Florida states the egg of the spotted oleander caterpillar moth is "pearly white, turning to yellow just before hatching." The eggs this moth laid all came out very yellow! And, is it a empyreuma affinis or pugione? In other words...I have questions I hope someone can answer! Thank you!
