Mexican Tiger Moth
Notarctia proxima

Observation date: March 26, 2013
Submitted by: pomarinejaeger
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Nearly moribund in building
Status: Resident
Verified by: Josiah Gilbert
Verified date: October 01, 2013
Coordinator notes: This a female Mexican Tiger Moth (females have red hindwings; males have white hindwings) . This is a very similar species to the Nevada Tiger Moth, but it differs from that species by lacking any black dots on the collar (which is sort of "on top" of the head).
