Observation notes: This moth was actively feeding on a domestic lilac bush. The temperature was about 80F around 5:30 pm when I took the photos. We have two lilacs growing side-by-side: one has darker blossoms and was attracting many of these moths. They did not seem interested in the lighter bush. Swallowtail butterflies were also active in both bushes at the same time.
