Coordinator notes: Spodoptera latifascia looks like a better fit for this caterpillar sighting than the suggested id of Spodoptera ornithogalli. The line along the side just doesn't look strong and sharp enough to be the latter species. Spodoptera latifascia is the best fit overall of all the Spodoptera caterpillar photos I reviewed on MPG and bugguide.net.
