Diane found this very small butterfly on alkali golden bush tucked in to lower part of bush like a leaf. we took a few photo's then it flew a short distance to this tree. think its is a mesquite? and roosted for a while. looks like a summer form leda mini streak. we also saw great purple hairstreak female in mistletoe. second time i startled this mini streak it flew high in tree where i could not pester it anymore. also saw winter form. lots of honey mesquite, screwbean, cat claw and other hardwoods. two days earlier there was heavy rain in borrego desert but very scattered two miles down the road at ague calliente park, rain gauge collected 1.2 inches vallecito had a few small puddles but probably got less than half inch. this photo was vallecito stage campground south western borrego state park, part of colorado low desert.. s-2 hwy
