Observation notes: Found this caterpillar in field while searching for Monarch butterflies. It was on a milkweed leaf but I don't think it was eating it. We moved it onto a picnic table (second photo). The large field was across a dirt road from a mixed woods with maple and beech and ash trees.

Coordinator notes: The Hitched Arches does not feed on the Milkweed (you are correct). It hosts on many nonwoody plants (alfalfa, aster, buttercup, clover etc etc!).
