Observation notes: A small (about half an inch) butterfly flitted briefly around our lavender plant on a warm sunny February day. Inside its wings near its body it seemed to glow with an amazingly beautiful blue-lavender color. It looked sort of like a butterfly identified on the same lavender bush in November 2013 as Leptotes marina.

Coordinator notes: This is a member of the skipper family, not a Marine Blue. Identification of this species is based on locality where the similar Common Checkered Skipper (Pyrgus communis) is very unlikely to occur.
