Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Quite a few of these have been flitting about recently at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. They mostly fly low to the ground and land on dirt, rocks, or low vegetation. The habitat is part non-native grassland and part coastal sage scrub. Some of this area burned five months prior to the photo, and the moths are in both the burned and unburned areas. When this photo was taken, the weather was mostly sunny and about 73°F.
