Observation notes: 14 mm long, including palps. attracted to black light; temperature 59-63 degrees Fahrenheit. BugGuide mentions that metaspilella flies midsummer but frigidana may overwinter and appear in spring. This specimen seems to have more prominent markings than metaspilella.
