Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: small just a little longer and wider than the last post. still just over 1/4 inch long. was moving fire wood around and this looked like it might have just hatched out. didn't fly away for quite a while. tenth inch of rain over night cool night and cold windy day. high low sixties days high, I have been collecting lots of very small silk houses and hatching then. the ones that i have been collecting lately have been from the fire wood pile. there always seems to be silk threads like spider webs. also lots of different spiders in the wood pile also. we don't spray so lots of insects. we grow lots of plants to support butterflies. host and nectar plants. just started to get interested in these small moths. seem to be lots of different ones. if any of these are hard to id or rare, there are so many it would be easy to send in a specimen, with out depleting the population.
