Observation notes: This pair was in place on the bole of aspen tree for at least four hours, the larger moth completely stationary while the lower, smaller moth changed position at least once, remaining coupled but edging off to the side. A fledgling robin was perched above the moths and was regularly fed by its parent; neither seemed to notice the moths. The day was cloudy and rain fell, but moths stayed in place.
