Observation notes: Sitting on my education and outreach center fence in Manhattan Montana. Each square of fence is approximately 1 cm. The two appendages atop seem to be holding the fence and would make 6 legs, making it a butterfly. But these were fuzzy and the critter sat there almost dormant with wings open. He/she even let me pet it. It was alive but very docile.
