Subfamily: Erebinae
Identification: Medium-sized, with brown, wood-grained forewing, variably tinted with whitish. Note dark brown subapical patch and shading along inner margin, covering long, thing black basal and anal dashes. Hindwing orangish red with black bands.
Wing Span: 4.6-6 cm.
Life History:
Flight: July-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Members of the rose family, such as apple and cherry trees.
