Subfamily: Cuculliinae
Identification: Forewing narrow and pointed as in other Cucullia species. Forewing dark gray with paler gray streaks that obscure usual forewing pattern. Am. and pm. lines partial, terminal line sharp; thin black basal dash, thicker anal dash, and two other dashes in upper st. area. Hindwing grayish brown, slightly darker at outer margin.
Wing Span: 4.2-5.1 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Wild lettuce.
