Identification: Wings white dusted with gray. Forewing am. and pm. lines black, toothed. Hindwing paler. Fringe checkered.
Wing Span: 2.5-3.2 cm.
Life History:
Flight: Late July - October.
Caterpillar Hosts: Fir, hemlock, pines, spruces, and other conifers
Adult Food:
Habitat:
Range: Newfoundland to mountains of Virginia and eastern Kentucky, west across Canada, south to Minnesota.
