Notodonta manitou (Neumögen & Dyar, 1893)

Identification: Medial and ST areas of manitou forewing are yellowish to reddish brown with pale gray toward the costa. In scitipennis the colors are more to the reddish brown and the gray at costa is a darker slate gray. The PM line of manitou also tends to be "more conspicuous and deeply scalloped" than in scitipennis.

Range: manitou has been reported "..from New Brunswick westward through central Quebec and Ontario, mainly north of the range of N. scitipennis to Alberta and southward in the West to Colorado."
