Observation notes: Slow flight, only flew a few feet before landing, flew close to ground. Noticeably less skiddish than Carolina. Postmedian line that is relatively straight above M-3 but forms a corner or bump, distad around M-3. Researchers identified a "sinuous band gap” (SBG) near the ventral hindwing tornus, between the posterior most eyespot & the connection between the postmedian & submarginal lines. In Intricate Satyrs the SBG was observed to be larger and more open as with this satyr.
